Welcome to Milford NH Alerts.
The town has contracted with a service which allows us to better communicate community, general and emergency messages out to the subscribers of the service. The service is free to you to subscribe.
Below is the registration page information, please take a few moments to register or update your profile so that we can make this system informative, effective and efficient.
The Milford Fire Department and Milford Office of Emergency Management thanks you for your helping us better our community's notification systems
Milford NH Alerts is a service provided by the State of NH for all citizens that live in or travel through the state. For specific community messaging, a subscriber must register their information, choose which messages they wish to receive, and put location information into the system. The location information helps us be more direct in our outreach and help reduce the potential for you receiving messages that may not be relevant to you.
Register Here: Milford NH Alerts Registration Page
The registration page has details on how to register, recover your password, or unsubscribe. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions section.
You may email specific questions/concerns to alerts@milford.nh.gov (note that we’re part-time, expect delays in responding)
The State of NH uses the same system to alert on state highway and other state-wide traveler information. You may sign up separately with them at NH Alerts.
Signing up for NH Alerts will get you statewide information based upon your selections, Milford NH Alerts will get you Town information based upon your selections. While you may likely use your same user credentials, they are two independent systems.
There is a mobile app for your device from Genasys Protect. The state expects to release this shortly, please come back over the next few weeks for more information.
It is NOT expected that routine weather alerts will be sent by the Town. There may be certain occasions that the Town may act and send out alerts that are very specific to our area and known in advance. Generally, weather alerting is already available through many real-time sources such as TV and radio media as well as from the National Weather Service (NWS) directly.
Under very urgent conditions, the State of NH Homeland Security and Emergency Management may send out alerts over the cellular systems. There is no subscription necessary, but these are optional and must be enabled on your mobile phone to receive them. Look in your phone settings for Government Alerts or similar.
If you are interested, the NWS NOAA Weather Radio system is operated 24 hours-a-day and will send out immediate alerts as warnings to the area. Inexpensive specialized radios are available for purchase through many sources. There is more information available from the NWS here.
