The Milford Department of Public Works is seeking a qualified individual to fill the posi-tion of Truck Driver / Laborer in the highway department.  This is a full-time (40/hrs/wk) position reporting to the General Foreman.

Duties include, but are not limited to:  operating dump trucks or other light equipment;  performing strenuous physical labor under varying and adverse weather conditions; performing preventive and routine daily maintenance on equipment, attending to minor equipment repairs; operating and maintaining, on an emergency and seasonal basis, trucks and light equipment for snow removal and other clean-up operations; occasionally operating heavy equipment, loading from stockpiles in DPW yard, etc.

Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions and be familiar with the Town’s safety policy. Performs various labor tasks of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature that are essential to the operations of the highway and utility departments when assigned.

Minimum of NH CDL license required – possession of NH CDL-B with air brakes pre-ferred.  HS diploma or equivalent required plus 2 to 3 years of experience in operating light motor driven equipment OR any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and ability. Salary range for this position is $15.00 - $19.00/hr depending on qualifications and experience.
